Colortec ORIGIN are carpets made with undyed wool based on a range of beautiful yarns in nature’s own colour variations, supporting the tendency to choose authentic and natural materials in the interior design.
Every carpet is unique and crafted in Denmark. With ORIGIN esthetic design, high quality and sustainability are part of the same solution. In many ways you can say that by eliminating the dye and enhancing the texture of the natural wool, the carpet has become even more exclusive.
The elimination of dyes is a simple message to communicate, however, the sustainability of ORIGIN is documented with a Cradle to Cradle certification embracing MUCH more than just the material health of the carpets:
Cradle to Cradle is the most advanced and comprehensive certification program within social and environmental responsibility covering five categories of certification. For Colortec ORIGIN this means
All substances have been mapped and assessed and the carpets have been proven free of banned substances (according to the Cradle to Cradle “Banned List of Substances”). The carpets hold the “Indoor Air Comfort Gold” certificate.
Wool is a rapidly renewable resource, the felt backing is made of recycled content as is the packaging; the carpet tubes are made from recycled plastic lids and the wrapping is made from recyclable plastic.
RENEWABLE ENERGY & CARBON MANAGEMENT:
100% wind energy used in the production process of the carpets as well as 100% compensation for CO2 emissions through Offset evidence = CO2 neutral production.
Optimization pf product-related chemistry positively impacts the quality of process wastewater. As we do not generate any wastewater in our internal production processes, we will take maximum responsibility in our value chain for our supplier’s management of their use of water.
Production in Denmark with high standards for good working conditions. We are committed to include young people with a former criminal record and refugees in our work force and we carried out a B Corp self-evaluation.
