FETCH by C2C Certified® is a first-of-its-kind material health tool that allows designers of any experience to bring verified health and wellness information to projects and clients. Typically, the data and information needed to find healthy materials is either buried in overly technical documents or not verified, preventing designers from easily making the best choice for their projects.
FETCH changes the game. FETCH surfaces independently verified science-backed material health data from Cradle to Cradle Certified® translated into clear, actionable insights. It turns material health research into a visually appealing and interactive process that gives designers the expertise to meaningfully connect the benefits of healthy materials to every project.
FETCH is designed and created by Ren DeCherney, a licensed interior designer with over 10 years of practice experience in firms and with certifications. With this background and knowledge of the complexity of the sustainability landscape, she built FETCH purposefully for all designers to scale their sustainability impact.
Built on the robust material health methodology and information of C2C Certified®, FETCH is trained on the C2C Certified® Standard and Product Data Sheets and powered by AI to pull out the information contained in those documents and list achievements in clear terms. FETCH also incorporates an interactive chatbot where designers can any ask any kind of question from “does this have forever chemicals” to “give me 5 highlights for a client who cares about indoor air quality” to get jargon-free answers, saving them hours of research time. With its approachable design, FETCH presents data but also gives designers the “why” behind using healthy materials in language that resonates with any stakeholder.
It is also protects designers from the potential of greenwashing: the AI model is restricted from using the internet to source information and has been trained on leading European anti-greenwashing regulations and a critical protocol pushes back on terms that can lead to misleading claims.
The impact of FETCH extends beyond any single designer or project: every designer who uses FETCH carries what they learn into their practice. FETCH has the potential to reshape how designers use and interact with C2C Certified® by putting the power of a robust, independently verified material health methodology into the hands of all designers so they can bring healthier products to every project.
