Remember: A Disney & Pixar Stage Show was created for Disney Adventure to connect with new audiences, including guests experiencing Disney and Pixar stories for the first time. Rather than focusing on one narrative, the show celebrates a variety of iconic characters and songs. By emphasizing emotion over language, the production is largely nonverbal and accessible to guests from around the world.
The show features 27 performers, including singers, dancers, character performers, and puppeteers. A standout is Wall-E, brought to life through a blend of traditional puppeteering and advanced animatronics. While the puppeteer controls Wall-E’s arms from inside the character, robotic systems animate the head, neck, and eyebrows, requiring precise coordination with the show’s music and effects.
Disney Adventure’s theater was originally designed for smaller-scale entertainment and offered limited backstage space. To accommodate a large production, Imagineers developed collapsible scenery and innovative storage solutions. They also repurposed LED tiles from across the ship to create a dynamic proscenium, helping immerse audiences in each story. The theater now includes more than 1,888 square feet of LED screens.
A technical highlight is the Wall-E Mobilator, a trackless autonomous scenic unit making its debut on Disney Adventure. Using LiDAR, wheel odometers, and downward-facing cameras to track its location, this groundbreaking technology could reshape scenic design for future theatrical productions on land and at sea.
