Did you know that a typical stateroom softgood refurbishment replaces over 30,000 meters of fabric per ship? There are literally tons of fabric that would go to waste. But at Holland America, a piece of our ship can now become a treasured keepsake. Our Reclaimed Fabric Tote Bags are crafted from what would otherwise be discarded during on the move refurbishment and dry docks. Materials are consolidated in Andriali’s warehouse in Miami, shredded down, and sent to their mill in Turkey, where the textiles are melted, re-spun, and woven into new fabric. This fabric is then used to create durable, stylish tote bags unique to Holland America, showcasing how waste can be reimagined into something both functional and beautiful. something both functional and beautiful. Debuting as merchandise on our Grand Voyages, with plans to expand fleetwide with branded bags to sell onboard ship giftshops, these totes offer guests a creative way to carry a piece of our sustainability mission as apart of their travel journey.
