YSA Design
Always evolving but anchored in decades of industry experience, the YSA Design team continues to deliver the blend of creativity, knowledge and efficiency that keeps cruise clients coming back for more.
In 2025, our team celebrates the 40th anniversary of YSA Design as a true innovator in cruise ship interiors and exteriors, whose purpose remains balancing the best aesthetic form against effective function through open and honest collaboration
We invite you to acknowledge the creative contribution our team continues to make to cruise ship design originality from concept stage onwards – whether developing profiles for first in class ships, or elegant interior and exterior spaces.
Our work features in signature areas on the ships of Costa, HAL, NCL, Virgin Voyages, Disney Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Hurtigruten, SeaDream, Viking Ocean Cruises, The World, and more.
Today, we continue to innovate, recently in designing for custom-built and boutique vacations to deliver spaces that serve individuality, wellness and secluded luxury, as well as exclusive cuisine.
The YSA Design team is also a multi-cultural group of 30 individuals which includes 13 nationalities. The diverse origins provide a unique breeding ground for originality, but they are unified by a mission to protect our planet’s resources, ecosystems, natural wonders and human environments.
Sustainability is not just a slogan: it is deep in our design team’s DNA and determines every choice we make on materials – from locally-sourced products and sustainably grown wool, to wood from managed forests to recycled plastics.
And, backing up our claims, the YSA Design team continues to be a technology innovator – committed to making the process more transparent and efficient for clients, architects, engineers and shipyards.
We have been using building information modelling to digitally represent physical spaces since 2018, for example, and were the first in the cruise ship sector to use Revit data-based tools and BIM in the initial stages of design. Doing so helps us model spaces more effectively for compliance and increases control over materials used, improving accountability on costs and carbon footprint.
The YSA team designs to protect the safety of life at sea and the marine environment, so that the cruise ship guests and operators of tomorrow have the same opportunities to visit historic and cultural landmarks, remote locations and wildlife that we take for granted today.
