AIDAdiva, originally launched in 2007, shines in new splendor following a spectacular refit in March 2025. . As part of the comprehensive modernization Evolution I, all public areas as well as every cabin and suite on board were completely redesigned. AIDA Cruises asked us to take on the exciting task of rethinking and improving the suite experience — a challenge we approached with enthusiasm, fresh ideas, and a strong sense of what the brand stands for.

Our vision: premium-suites with spacious and private sun decks located at the aft of the ship. Each new suite was created by combining two former balcony cabins into one expansive unit. In total, six new premium suites were realized at the stern of AIDAdiva.

Our design goal was to create a bright, open space that could still adapt flexibly to the needs of guests. At first glance, the suites are divided into a living and sleeping area, separated only by an elegant partition wall. Thanks to the oversized sofas — custom-designed for AIDA — which convert into full-size beds, the suites are perfectly suited for families as well.
To ensure privacy and functionality, we developed an innovative separation concept: two curtain elements are concealed within a recessed wall pocket and can be drawn along the freestanding wall, which features two integrated TV´s. This allows for a clear separation of the living and sleeping areas at night — while also providing blackout functionality.

This solution represents a design milestone — not only in terms of functionality but also in aesthetic sophistication. Preserving AIDA’s signature design DNA was especially important to us: a vibrant, life-affirming interior design language characterized by harmonious colors and a unique atmosphere. With these new suites, we have succeeded in evolving that style into the modern era — contemporary, functional, and unmistakably AIDA.
The Evolution I project marks a significant step forward in the continued development of AIDAdiva and sets new standards for the guest experience on board.
