Hurtigruten – MS FRAM – Aros Marine
Cruise Line – Hurtigruten | MS FRAM
Completion Date – 20/05/2022
Earlier this year, Norway-based expedition ship company Hurtigruten carried out a multi-million retrofit of expedition ship FRAM, modernizing onboard public area facilities and updating 85 cabins & 20 suites. All outfitting works were done by Aros Marine.
Fram means ‘forward’ – lifting expectations of the voyage at hand. MS Fram was built with one mission–bringing her guests closer to nature, wildlife, and unforgettable experiences. With space for only 276 passengers, the experience is intimate and guests are sure to get to know many of their fellow travellers.
On the FRAM project, The Aros Marine team completed the concept design, engineering drawings, and onboard works and produced all required furniture pieces for the cabins and suites. The company also worked on public spaces like the Activity/ Science centre, Explorer lounge, gym, sauna, and BBQ area. Work began in April 2021 and was completed in May 2022.
According to VP of Business Development Mantas Dubavicius „ even though the retrofit market has not yet returned to pandemic levels, more and more repair orders are reaching us. It is always a pleasure and honour to work with long–term partners such as Hurtigruten. It is one of the greatest examples of real partnership – full of explored opportunities, joint efforts to deliver the highest customer value, and mutual success developing our business further and beyond our expectations.“
