Founded in 2022, Oceancircle set out to revolutionize waste management in the cruise and hospitality industries.
Recognizing the environmental impact of traditional disposal methods, we developed innovative solutions that turn renovation waste into valuable second-life products.
By closing material loops, we help businesses reduce emissions, lower costs, and contribute to a cleaner, more responsible future. Our mission is to transform waste into a new resource – creating a circular economy where sustainability and efficiency go hand in hand.
Still today millions of tonnes of renovation waste from the cruise and hospitality industry end up in incineration, leaving a heavy carbon footprint. Oceancircle prevents this by transforming high-volume waste into valuable second-life products – minimising environmental impact and maximising resource efficiency. We develope ecological and economic take back programmes for E.O.L. materials like carpets, textiles, mattresses, temporary protection, wooden pallets as well as the ships mooring lines.
Oceancircle is pioneering the process by starting the circle on site.
We collect, segregate and process the EOL materials like carpet, textiles or matresses on site at the shipyard (or pier) and as a result reduce the material volume by up to 90%.
This makes a dramatic difference to the following reverse logistic process, reducing cost and carbon emissions on the way.
Once collected and processed the new resources are transported to various stategically located partners & recycling plants throughout Europe.
At our head office in Hamburg, Germany we design and developed an icreasing variety of second life products, most of them destined to go back to where they came from: the cruise & hospitality industry.
In 2024 we co-founded „Green Guard Underlays SL“ based in Burgos, northern Spain, where we manufacture IMO certified carpet underlays made entirely from EOL carpet & textile waste collected by Oceancircle from the cruise industry.
Since our founding in 2022, Oceancircle has made significant strides in reducing waste and promoting circularity. Our pioneering approach keeps high-volume materials in use, cutting emissions and conserving valuable resources.
