The Izumi Sushi & Hibachi Restaurant has relocated to Central Park for Utopia of the Seas. The restaurant now has direct access from the exterior, has an outdoor dining terrace, and now has a Japanese take out window featuring sushi boxes and sweet treats.
The Sushi Restautant has an impressive, oversized entry portal with hand carved door hardware. The interior design features a dining banquette of houses and a feature Sushi Bar which can be opened to the outside park via a moveable Nana wall. The interior graphics package was very artistic, with the Geisha images interpreted by text designed for books.
Adjacent to the Sushi bar is a private dining room, partially screened by sliding panels. This special place features a new Omakase dining experience especially prepared for the diners by the sushi chef.
As the new Izumi spans 2 fire zones and a service pantry, the connecting corridor is a feature lined with artistic calligraphy panels and festooned with guest handwritten wishes from the ceiling on metal tags.
The enlarged Teppanyaki Hibachi dining room is visible from Central Park. The space allows for 3 full teppanyaki tables and a service window to diners in Central Park. The dining rooms back wall features a full-length Japanese graphic, incorporating a lush mountainous landscape with cranes and the sun.
