The Owners Suite aboard the Wind Star represents the relaxed luxury of our unique sailing yachts. We peeled back the layers of classic and modern yacht architecture to reveal the design philosophy that blends contemporary and timeless. Stepping onto the Wind Star is the ambiance of stepping on your own private yacht with the service of a boutique hotel.
The suite features a refined palette of neutrals, soothing blues, and warm wood tones, creating a tranquil and luxurious atmosphere. We brought in pops of playfulness through the art, by Miami artist Magnus Sodamin, inspired by tropical wildlife and nature.
In addressing space constraints on small ships, we focused on functionality without sacrificing style. We optimized storage solutions with custom cabinetry and integrated options, ensuring every inch of space is used effectively while maintaining a clutter-free, elegant environment.
The integrated millwork combines curved corners with straight-line trim, and warm woods with soft leather panel insets, reflecting a sophisticated interplay of classic yacht aesthetics and modern design. With these details, we added dynamic visuals and softness while ensuring durability in a refined way.
Ambient lighting enhances the suite’s atmosphere, with strategically placed accent lights creating a warm, inviting glow. Adjustable lighting options allow guests to tailor the ambiance to their preferences, highlighting the suite’s luxurious details and contributing to a relaxing environment.
Plush furnishings are met with functional innovations. The coffee table, with a modern furniture base, hides the easily operable automatic lift mechanism so you can comfortably turn it into a dining table for your room-service experience.
Overall, the Wind Star Owners Suite offers a calm place of respite through a relaxing atmosphere, understated materials, and ultimate functionality.
