In early 2024, Cunard Line unveiled its 249th vessel, Queen Anne, designed by a famous team of designer, including Sybille de Margerie. Known for her luxury designs, she infused her signature elegance and modernity into this ship, merging tradition with innovation.
Aboard Queen Anne, Sybille De Margerie created, from scratch, the first Mareel Wellness & Beauty areas, following the innovative groundbreaking spa concept ideated for Cunard. Named after the ocean’s phosphorescence, Mareel captures the sea’s rejuvenating essence, offering a tranquil sanctuary inspired by nature. The design seamlessly integrates with the maritime setting, combining serene aesthetics with advanced wellness technology. The spa features natural elements and relaxing colours as white and light blue evoking the ocean’s calm and creating a serene atmosphere.
The reception and beauty salon evoke with sophisticated surfaces and light-diffusing materials a vibrating atmosphere with sculptural artworks evoking the lightness of the water bubbles and waves.
This luxurious space offers privacy and indulgence for a complete wellness experience.
The pool area, the spa’s heart, features sleek lines and ocean-inspired hues. The water’s surface reflects ambient lighting, while loungers wrapped in the embrace of a blue mosaic that evokes a sea wave.
A series of different thermal chambers can be discovered along an intriguing path that wraps, unseen, the back of the pool.
The sauna and steam rooms benches are designed with organic, fluid lines, providing a sense of floating in water and allowing guests to recline in absolute comfort.
The cold room with its smooth, flowing surfaces in pristine white marble evokes the gentle undulation of waves, while soft, indirect lighting enhances the space, creating an ethereal, underwater-like ambiance.
The gym equipped with advanced machines extend the spa’s calming atmosphere with minimalistic decor and natural materials but with a boost of energy.
Between a large variety of treatment rooms stands out the exclusive wellness suite, featuring two luxurious massage beds, a large relaxation bed with sweeping ocean views and an infrared sauna, providing a private sanctuary for indulgent treatments and blending luxury with nature-inspired tranquillity.
Each space reflects Sybille De Margerie vision of merging oceanic inspiration with advanced wellness technology, offering a rejuvenating and luxurious sea experience.
