RADICI Marine – Goddess of the Night refurbishment project (Sustainability of Carpets)

Fully Circular Marine Carpet Install for Refubishment of Goddess of the Night
I /Daniela Herget as their Consultant specified over 30.000 sqm of FULLY CIRCULAR Carpet for All staterooms and suites onbaord the Goddess of the Night Vessel for NeoNyx Cruises and I will now specify even more as we are doing the rest of the ship as well together with the various designers for this refurb.
The Carpet is made out of plastic waste coming from the Oceans and some industry waste. All of the offcuts /waste appearing during the installation and all the carpets which will be replaced of that RADICI BLOOM® Carpet later are fully recyclable! The Company Aquafil will pick up the waste and make new Econyl® yarn of it which is infinitely recyclable. It can then be again either Radici Bloom® Carpet, a new NOHO Chair, a particular model of Gucci or Prada Handbag, Swimwear, Napapijri Jacket or maybe one of the other over 200 Products which are currently made of this Regenerated Econyl® Yarn which can be recyclable over and over again.
I take my role as Ambassador of the Sustainable Maritim interior Declaration very serious and do what I can to specify Environmental friendly Materials with the focus on going one step further and installing fully circular materials where available and possible. Not only the carpet is environmental friendly on this project but also many of the products will be which we will be specifying.
We design environmental friendly and I specify with the End of life of a product in mind! (and with marine compliance) I am very proud of this project and sad that we could not do the install in June, but this gives me the chance to do even better in the next month and extend my efforts to more circular and environmental friendly materials! The total of Bloom® Carpet for this project at the end will be close to 60.000SQM of Circular Carpet!
And as far as the Manufacturers have informed us – Radici Bloom® carpet is the only Econyl® fully circular carpet with the marine IMO / wheel mark certificate.
The other beauty of this carpet is, that nearly everyone can use the Online Carpet Design studio of Radici and create their own design as the carpets are printed. Or they get one of the many designs and color options ready to order.
