The ILMA art collection has been curated and assembled with the intent to reveal, reflect, and accentuate these perceptions through the eyes of artists who have worked from venues as varied as the Mediterranean to the Caribbean and from mid 1900s to present day.

It is the vision, passion and foresight of the people of the of Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection that has made this collection possible. A journey within their journey for our guests, inviting them to discover and appreciate the diverse cultures and rich histories represented. With the Cote d’Azur emerging in the early 20th century as “the” playground for both the leisure class and the avant garde from both sides of the Atlantic, that lifestyle is recalled in imagery ranging from Picasso’s view out the window to period photography of the fashionable personalities of the era and which prefaced the development of the region up to and through today as the ultimate destination. The post war return to the shore is chronicled by Second School of Paris artists Rene Genis and Guy Bardone celebrating the region at that time. Racing yachts appear as a reminder of that heritage and motor yachts are illustrated plying the harbors of elegance. More contemporary visions of sea life both real and imagined are placed throughout the yacht. Sophia Collier shows us the color of water. Susan Gott shows us the mythical creatures living in Atlantis. Pia Maria Raeder and Susan Klibanoff show us what it may be actually like to live there.

With ILMA as the vessel, the art is a reflection of the spirit of the sea on each voyage.
