Virgin Voyages, launching in April 2020, is sourcing a design savvy Sailor (Customer) who desires a boutique hotel experience on the high seas. A Virgin Voyages Sailor is keen to experience life to its fullest; not only in their everyday life, but also on their holidays. Our Sailors need to ensure when they there is a chance to balance their needs from fun and indulgence to health and relaxation. Gone are the days when indulgence is simply seen as food, as getting a chance to hang in the spa and have a treatment is even more important.
The Design
Redemption Spa is an indulgent, transcendent marine-inspired sanctuary. Invoking the natural beauty of seaside surroundings inspired by rocks and caves, we hero the amazing sea views. Situated on Deck 5, the 720 sqm space has a direct access from the lift lobby and divided into a welcome area, treatment rooms, large open pools and hammam areas. A purpose-designed space to offer you the chance to be alone or with a group of friends.
Welcome
Upon entry, you are greeted at a relaxed marble carved reception desk, where you can peak beyond to see a series of beach-like cabin changing rooms, complete with photos of shore flotsam.
Treatment Rooms
The 15 right-sized treatment rooms are situated in three zones. Two zones can be accessed through the warm hammam area and the third just off the welcome area for those that do not enjoy hammam. Each treatment room is simply laid out with black and white tiles, a black rock wash basin and a modern treatment bed with a cozy throw. Fresh eucalyptus leaves add a touch of nature to the room as you start to settle in and relax for your top-notch treatment.
Hammam
The open plan and communal hamman sits at the heart of the spa. It is intensely relaxing and oozes wellness and mindfulness. Sailors are given the choice of dipping into three heated plunge pools at varying temperatures, immerse themselves into the sunken pool complete with bubbles (obviously!), or to allow their body to melt onto warm hammam benches and watch the sea drift by. Take it to the next level and step into one of our Sauna, Steam or Salt Rooms – all equipped with the perfect sea views.
OMMM
Whether your idea of relaxation is a sun salutation or a hot stone massage, you are about to get it OMMM (lol, we know). A cross between a week spent in Bali and 2 hours at a cafe in Amsterdam, Redemption Spa is a haven of tranquility and self-preservation. Get dirty in the mudroom, let the sauna cleanse you, or spend an entire afternoon floating from your preference of massage to seaweed wrap, until you’ve aged backwards.
