Windjammer – Royal Caribbean International – Wonder of the Seas

Wonder of the Seas is the 5th Oasis Class vessel for the Royal Caribbean International which was launched December 2022 as the world’s largest Cruise ship.
Wonder of the Seas represented the first significant realignment of venues within the Oasis class from the previous sister vessels. The Windjammer 3 meal-a-day dining venue was relocated 1 deck lower which allowed it to wrap the Board Walk atrium with dining spaces and provides natural light and expansive view on all sides.
The design direction for Windjammer was to evoke the spirit and vibrancy of the Caribbean islands starting in the entry hand wash experience. Here we have translated the space into an open and relaxing experience with seating areas for guests to meet up before a meal.
The revised deck layout allowed the addition of a distinctive bakery, beverage and specialty food offerings upon entrance with a café vibe seating area for quick bites.
The marketplace offers open kitchens and diverse buffet islands for a wide range of choices, and distinct casual dining areas offering various seating types to accommodate large and small groups highlighted by tropical colors, patterns and materials.
This became the basis for design for the new Icon of the Seas Windjammer and the Utopia of the Seas Windjammer.
