November, Brighton – The world’s biggest celebration of cruise ship interiors, Cruise Ship Interiors (CSI) Awards supported by Global Headline Sponsor Kalmar, has announced their list of finalists. More than 80 design studios, cruise lines and suppliers are in the running to take home the cruise ship interiors industry’s top accolades. The awards will take place at the CSI Awards & Networking Lounge, Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo (CSI Europe), London ExCeL, on Thursday 30 November.
This year the CSI Awards have shaken up their format, putting the spotlight on small ship excellence and introducing two new awards. This change is in response to consultation with George Scammell, Director Interior Asset Management, Princess Cruises, in his role as Chair of the CSI Design Expo Advisory Board. George shared his depth of knowledge of the cruise ship interiors industry and his advocacy for excellence at all scales of design. As a result categories Best Suite, Best Public Space, Best Casual Dining and Best Fine Dining will now award two winners, one for small ship design and one for large ship design. With the rise of smaller, more intimate and luxurious ships, enhanced by the wave of hotel brands entering the industry with yacht-like vessels, one category, Best Stateroom, will be awarded solely to small ship designs.
The two all-new categories are: Most Sustainable Interior sponsored by Stern Engineering and Best Crew Area. Hopeful cruise line finalists include Carnival Cruise Line, Marella Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Cunard, A-ROSA, Silversea, Uniworld and MSC. Design studios in the running to bring home an award include Partner Ship Design, SMC Design, JOI Design, De Jorio Luxury Design, Tillberg Design of Sweden and Studio DADO. The CSI Awards will take place on the second day of CSI Europe. European excellence and the best of the British will meet for two days of networking, product sourcing and certified conference sessions. CSI Europe connects interior suppliers with Europe’s most esteemed cruise lines, designers, and shipyards working on major refurbishment and newbuild projects. Taking place 29 – 30 November 2023 at London’s ExCeL, the highly focused exhibition and conference is the place to be if you work in the industry.
